FLXfinish+ enables customers to produce mixed matte and gloss in one print
SINGAPORE, 11 August 2022 — Canon today announced the launch of FLXfinish+, the unique UVgel feature that, with one ink set, lets large format graphics customers produce matte, gloss and mixed matte as well as gloss in one print on the Canon Colorado printer series.

Canon’s large format graphics, roll-to-roll Colorado printer series is known for giving customers a choice between a velvety matte or vibrant glossy finish with just one ink set. At FESPA1 2022, we have unveiled a revolutionary new technology for Canon Colorado printer series: FLXfinish+, the unique ability to print high value applications with a mixed matte and gloss finish in one print, at the click of a button.
Being able to have both finishes in one print enables Print Service Providers (PSPs) to take a whole list of applications to the next level – from making brands stand out on point-of-sale (POS) and retail advertising, to bringing labels and decals to life with glossy highlights, to creating amazing effects for interior décor applications.
The Canon Colorado printer series is able to print matte and gloss on one print in one pass because of the unique and award-winning UVgel 460 inks. With this ink, the only difference between the matte and the gloss finish is when the UVgel inks are cured. Combined with the benefits of our patented UVgel technology (odourless prints with rich colours, sharp details and scratch-resistance), FLXfinish+ enables this unique effect without having to use an extra varnish channel or consumables. This is done in a one-step, fully automated process, so you can run it unattended and without incurring additional running costs.
FLXfinish+ will be featured as standard on all Colorado 1650s and optional on all Colorado 1630s. It is also available as an upgrade to all Colorado 1630s and 1650s already installed with customers, which reflects Canon’s commitment to offering customers a smart investment solution.
Availability
Sales of Canon Colorado 1650 and Colorado 1630 equipped with the New FLXfinish+ will be available at selected authorised Canon distributors2 in the Asia region from August 2022 onwards.
