With three production scanners, the imageFORMULA DR-G2 series accelerates digitisation and workflow efficiency with high-speed and
    high-quality scanning
    DR-G2140 press release

SINGAPORE, 1 NOVEMBER 2018 – Canon today announced the expansion of its document scanner portfolio, with the launch of the imageFORMULA DR-G2 series, comprising three new production scanners, the DR-G2140, DR-G2110 and DR-G2090. These robust production scanners cater to enterprises with business functions that have high-volume scanning needs, such as corporate support offices and mailrooms. Equipped with a powerful image processing engine and connectivity features, the imageFORMULA DR-G2 series reliably delivers high functionality with enhanced processing speeds, image quality and connectivity.
“From digitising medical records to academic test scores to loan application forms, businesses across various industries process a high volume of documents in their day-to-day operations, the integration of digital tools to process documents more efficiently is vital to achieving productivity and growth in businesses today,” said Toshiaki Nomura, Director, Canon Singapore. “The new imageFORMULA DR-G2 series production scanners will enable users to digitise business data reliably and swiftly, thereby streamlining workflows and driving higher levels of productivity.”
    Increased efficiency with productive scanning
Equipped with the DR Processor, the powerful image processing engine enables the new imageFORMULA DR-G2 series to achieve high-speed scanning without interdependence on the performance of personal computers (PCs).
The innovative DR Processor supports batch separation of scanned documents using patch codes as separators, enabling a more efficient document processing workflow. Combined with the use of the latest Contact Image Sensor (CIS) technology, the DR-G2140 provides users with a remarkable high colour scanning speed of 140ppm, while the DR-G2110 and DR-G2090 deliver impressive colour scanning speeds of 110ppm and 90ppm respectively.
Leveraging the revolutionary image processing technology, the DR Processor reduces colour unevenness in the scanning process, allowing the production scanners to produce clearer and more defined images suitable for Optical Character Recognition (OCR) in various information management systems.
Enhanced image quality with intelligent processing
Engineered to produce consistently high-quality images, the imageFORMULA DR-G2 series features a new Binarisation technology, Active Threshold, that allows users to scan documents with different backgrounds, and remove unwanted noise from the scanned images without having to adjust imaging settings for greater convenience. The intelligent technology enhances the quality of each scanned image by intensifying faint text and improving the clarity of background with automatic brightness adjustment. Facilitating the ease of implementation, the production scanners include a new Color Variance Adjustment feature that moderates the colour differences captured by varied scanners available in the market.
    Improved connectivity and usability
A first in the high volume production range, the imageFORMULA DR-G2140 and DR-G2110 support convenient network scanning via wired LAN connection, allowing multiple users to share the production scanners on a network effortlessly. For ease of operation and usability, the imageFORMULA DR-G2 series comes built-in with a 5-line LCD display that ensures easy navigation through the scanning tasks.
The imageFORMULA DR-G2140, DR-G2110 and DR-G2090 will be available at authorised Canon distributors and dealers in November.
