Extender RF 1.4x - RF Lens World - Canon South & Southeast Asia

This extender can be used to attach an RF lens to an RF mount camera body, and increase the focal length of the lens by 1.4x (RF 1.4x) or 2x (RF 2x). In situations where the subject is too far away to capture in the full frame, this extender brings the subject closer. A high refractive index and low-dispersion optical glass materials suppress image curvature and lateral chromatic aberration. The high resolution of a full-size sensor is maintained while expanding the range of shooting opportunities.

A triple-joint lens is used, as well as optimized coating. This minimizes the surface area that comes in contact with the air, to suppress the risk of ghosting. The mount and controls are designed to be dust- and water-resistant. The lens is also coated with a thermal barrier that reflects infrared rays in sunlight and prevents the lens from getting too hot. When the extender is connected, the maximum aperture F value of the lens becomes 1 stop (RF 1.4x) or 2 stops (RF 2x) larger (ie. “darker”), but the camera will automatically compensate for the exposure.

Note: RF100-500mm f/4.5-7.1L IS USM can be used only in a focal-length range of 300-500mm.
