This lens surpasses the EF135mm f/2L USM in terms of maximum aperture size, making it a large-aperture, mid-telephoto single-focal length lens. Using three UD lens elements helps reduce chromatic aberration and provides clear, sharp images. The in-lens image stabilisation (IS) mechanism is unique to this 135mm single-focal-length lens*1. By utilising the camera's in-body IS in tandem, the blur compensation for camera shake is equivalent to a shutter speed increase of up to 8.0 stops*2. Lenses with a fluorine coating are easy to clean and resistant to dust and water*3. There is a control ring and a lens function button on the lens, and you can assign functions to the button. This lens really shines when it comes to mid-telephoto lenses' signature compression and bokeh effects.
*1 As of November 2022. According to Canon survey.
*2 When EOS R3 is used. Conforms to CIPA standards (yaw/pitch directions only).
*3 The coating does not guarantee that water and dust will not penetrate the camera.
