You can go farther, faster, and with better image quality with this RF70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM lens. It weighs only 1,070g (excluding the tripod mount) and has an overall length of only 146mm (approx.), making it the shortest lens* of its kind in the world. A large-aperture lens element was positioned close to the focal plane of the camera side, taking advantage of the RF mount's short back focus and large aperture design to downsize the entire optical system successfully. Seventeen lens elements organised into thirteen groups make up the optical design. These include a single Super Ultra-low Dispersion (UD) lens, three regular UD lenses, a single UD aspherical lens, and a single glass-molded aspherical lens. The goal is to minimise aberration and maintain excellent image quality throughout the frame. This lens captures high-quality images at any zoom level with a wide focal length range of 70mm to 200mm. In addition to satisfying the demands of all photographers, the lens provides exceptional dependability on top of good basic performance.
* Refers to interchangeable lenses with a focal length of 70-200mm f/2.8 for SLR cameras and mirrorless cameras with a 35mm full-frame image sensor. As of April 5, 2022. According to Canon surveys.
