RF24mm f/1.4L VCM - RF Lens World - Canon South & Southeast Asia

This series of large-aperture, single-focal-length lenses seamlessly links photography and video shooting, for a new generation of visual imaging. The 24mm lens offers a strong sense of perspective, and despite the wide angle of view, the large f/1.4 aperture allows for rich bokeh backgrounds when desired, allowing the photographer to catch the subject in stunningly sharp relief. The lens suppresses “breathing” significantly, so the user can take full advantage of the bokeh effect while recording stable videos, even when the focus shifts.

The optical system features a UD lens that effectively corrects chromatic aberration and a Glass Moulded (GMo) aspherical lens that suppresses various types of aberration and delivers high image quality to the peripheral areas of the image. Two special coatings — Subwavelength Structure Coating (SWC) and Air Sphere Coating (ASC) — are applied to the lens surface to suppress the risk of lens flare and ghosting.

In addition, electronic floating focus control and a Voice Coil Motor (VCM) combined with a Nano USM provides fast, smooth, and quiet autofocusing, despite the bulky girth of this large-diameter lens.

The lens package includes a rear filter holder for attaching sheet-type filters to the rear end of the lens. This can be used to produce various filter effects.

The exterior of the lens is identical to the RF35mm f/1.4L VCM and RF50mm f/1.4L VCM. All measure approximately 99.3mm in length and weigh around 500g. In addition to providing a consistent “feel”, this design makes it easier to switch lenses in the field, and easy to adjust when switching lenses and shooting videos with gimbals. Since the filter diameter of these lenses is also standardized, users can employ the same ø67mm filter even when it is necessary to change lenses.
