CN-E20mm T1.5 FP X

The Precise Wide.

The Sumire CN-E20mm T1.5 FP X bridges the 14mm and 24mm lens gaps, allowing for more precise wide-angle shooting options in smaller interiors during filming.

Adept at creating a soft diffused look with natural skin tones.

Canon's unique line of cinema prime lenses – appropriately named "SUMIRE Prime".

In Japanese, it is pronounced "Soo-mee-ray".  It is connected to the gentleness and beauty of flowers. Bright T-stops and Canon's well-known warm imagery are combined with a special optical design that adds a subtle look as the lens aperture gets closer to its maximum setting, slightly altering the close-up textural renderings of the human face. Additionally, it creates a smooth transition to the scene's fall-off sections, which produces a beautiful bokeh. A memorable scene gains emotional expressiveness from this combination.

Artistically Pleasing Image Rendering and Warmer Colours

The original lens composition with a large diameter aspheric lens and anomalous dispersion glass offers more solid and artistically pleasing image rendering. This brings out the impressive image quality of 4K cinema images in all their glory. The warm colour tones have been consistent throughout the series to artistically capture people’s facial expressions and better depict the subject’s texture.

Bright T No

The fast T-stop makes these lenses ideal for shooting in low-light scenarios or almost no light, which is made possible with the large-diameter lens that the Sumie Prime lenses are known for.

Elegance

Soft and Natural Bokeh Effect

The bright T-number of the PRIME lens and multi-blade iris diaphragm produces natural blur effects closer to a circle, from maximum to minimum aperture. You get a more three-dimensional bokeh even with super wide-angle lenses with a more profound depth of field, broadening the range of visual expression.

Artistic Rendering

With the help of the phenomenon that an odd number of iris blades causes the number of light rays to double, all Canon CN-E series lenses employ 11 iris blades to provide softly diffused light for imaging.

Diffracted light in the opposite direction does not overlap when there is an odd number of blades, producing diffused, visually pleasing light rays.

300° Focus Rotation

In addition to providing the precise amount of resistance required for focusing.

The lens features a focus rotation angle of 300° to meet the requirements of focusing professionals.

Consistent Operability

Across the PRIME lens series, the gear position, front diameter, total length*1, filter diameter*2 and rotation angle have been standardised. It is possible to utilise matte boxes and accessories even after changing lenses.

Distance Indicators

Cinema Lens has a crucial feature: the focus ring has indicator numbers on both the left and right sides of the lens, allowing it to check the distance indicator from either side.

Phosphorescent Indicators

To improve visibility in low-light conditions, the front barrel has indicator markings with phosphorescent paint.

Switchable Units Display

You've the freedom to show distance in either feet or meters by swapping the exterior parts of the lens.
