This lens offers ultra-wide-angle shooting with a minimum focal length of 14mm, as well as optimal performance in terms of image reproduction, operability, and robustness. Expanded wide-angle coverage is achieved by reducing the minimum focal length to 14mm, compared to the previous EF16-35mm f/4L IS USM model, allowing photographers to take photos with a fuller sense of perspective. The in-lens IS mechanism provides camera-shake compensation as effective as a 5.5-stop*1 increase in shutter speed. When combined with the coordinated control of the camera’s in-body IS, this improves to up to 7.0 stops*2. Composition is easy, thanks to a minimum focusing distance of 0.2m. Another attractive feature is the high-precision AF with nano Ultrasonic Motor (USM). This is a truly versatile lens that can handle everything from landscape and architectural photography to snapshots and portraits.
