The RF10-20mm f/4L IS STM is the world's first*1 ultra-wide-angle zoom lens, expanding the EF11-24mm f/4L USM range. It uses aspherical and Ultra-low Dispersion (UD) lens components to produce clear photos with minimal colour bleeding, even in the image's corners. The lens weighs about half as much as the EF11-24mm f/4L USM (lens only) but produces equal or better image quality. The lens also includes an in-lens optical image stabiliser, which enables hand-held shooting in low-light situations and long-exposure (slow shutter) shots. The lens is also compatible with Canon's first-ever Peripheral Coordination Control*2 *3 feature, which corrects the peripheral blurring common in wide-angle photography. Air Sphere Coating (ASC) also significantly reduces the possibility of lens flare and ghosting. The only limit to image expression is the photographer's imagination.
*1 As of October 10, 2023, for AF-compatible interchangeable zoom lenses (excluding fisheye lenses) for 35mm full-frame SLR-type cameras. According to Canon survey.
*2 This function is available on compatible cameras (EOS R5 with ver. 1.9.0 or later, as of October 10, 2023), only when the Movie Digital IS is turned off.
*3 Use of Movie Digital IS is recommended when recording videos that involve a lot of panning or considerable screen shake.
