Canon Unveils Three New MAXIFY MegaTank Business Printers for Offices and Workgroups
Low-cost and designed to meet high volume colour printing needs
SINGAPORE, 25 March 2025 — Canon today announced three new MAXIFY MegaTank business printers, GX7170, GX6170 and GX5170 that are designed for small and mid-size offices. In addition to carrying out low-cost colour printing in high volumes, these printers are also designed to deliver water-resistant1 printouts. By combining speed and productivity with laser printer-like performance, the new MAXIFY MegaTank business printers can help businesses increase workplace productivity.
Laser-Like Document Quality
With an all-pigment ink formulation, the new MegaTank business printers produce laser-like colour intensity, high contrast, sharp lines and text. Even if text and images are exposed to water spills or highlighter marks, they can still resist smudging, bleeding, or fading1, making them durable and long-lasting.
Built for Business Productivity
One mainstay of all three models is automatic two-sided printing, which means the printers are well-equipped to handle different media like inkjet-compatible glossy paper, window envelopes, labels as well as long-form banners of up to 1.2 metres. For the MegaTank GX7170, it has a 600-sheet paper capacity when considering both front cassettes and rear tray. As for the MegaTank GX6170 and GX5170, they can accommodate up to 350 sheets, allowing for longer print runs without interruption. Both the MegaTank GX7170 and GX6170 come with a 50-sheet Auto Document Feeder (ADF) for easy multi-page scanning and copying. Additionally, for the top-of-line MegaTank GX7170, it includes a single-pass duplex scanning engine for even faster digitisation of two-sided document originals.
A full set of inks can deliver up to 14,0002 pages in colour and up to 6,0002 pages in monochrome. All MegaTank models have an Economy mode print setting that extends page yields, allowing them to print up to 21,0003 pages in colour and up to 9,0003 pages in monochrome for even greater cost savings. The three printers are also easy to maintain as they have an easily replaceable maintenance cartridge design that minimises operation downtime.
Full Network Connectivity with Enhanced Data Security
On top of wired LAN connectivity, the new MegaTank business printers also support Wi-Fi, ensuring wireless connectivity for multiple office workgroup members at any time. For data security, users are protected against data snooping with TLS 1.3, which provides additional layers of encryption. The printers also feature the latest WPA3-Enterprise for faster and more secure server authentication.
Versatile Solutions to Empower Creative Expression
With the Canon PRINT mobile application, available on the App Store and Play Store, users can print, scan, and copy documents conveniently. Printer settings and cloud connections can also be managed via the application.
For small businesses, the PosterArtist Web application has free designs and templates that users can utilise to create professional-quality posters, sales flyers, and other business communication materials easily.
