The lens natively provides up to 4.5 stops of image stabilisation. With a compatible camera, image stabilisation can even go as high as 7.0 stops.
This allows you to shoot handheld in low light with shutter speeds slower than you usually could.
APS-C and Full-frame
The RF-S55-210mm f/5-7.1 IS STM may be used with both EOS R APS-C and EOS R full-frame* cameras. Hence, this lens is a great option for any existing EOS R system user who wants to expand their lens line-up to capture more variety of images.
The effective focal length ranges from 88mm to 336mm when used with both APS-C and full-frame cameras.

Focus Breathing Correction
Focus breathing is a common problem that occurs as a result of changes to the lens's focusing distance when switching focus between subjects, which can be distracting during video recording. The RF-S55-210mm f/5-7.1 IS STM compensates for the change in field of view as the focus point is changed, resulting in seamless video recording.
STM

Dual Function Ring
Canon's signature knurled control ring functions as both a focus and exposure dial.
UD Lenses
This lens has two single Ultra-Low Dispersion (UD) lens elements with low refraction and low dispersion. This reduces axial and magnetic chromatic aberrations to improve image quality.
