Key Features
CINEMA EOS SYSTEM
RF CINEMA LENSES
The lenses from Canon are skillfully crafted for the motion picture industry, giving you the essential equipment to confidently transform your creative concepts and narratives into reality.
RF Mount Connectivity
Through its 12-pin electronic contacts, the RF mount significantly improves EOS-lens communication support and enables new functions.
Like EF cinema lenses, lens metadata can be read, recorded, and displayed at the destination. Compatible cameras can correct lateral chromatic aberration, peripheral illumination, and dual pixel focus guide using this data.
Direct Attachment
When using the lenses with the EOS C70 and the EOS R5C, the RF mount eliminates the need for a mount adapter.
Distortion Correction
Lines are straightened
Lines look distorted
When shooting video with compatible cameras*, high-speed data transfer makes it possible to instantly transfer lens metadata to the camera, enabling distortion correction in accordance with lens characteristics.
*Supported cameras (as of June 2023): EOS C70, EOS R5 C (Movie Mode only)
Peripheral Light & Chromatic Aberration Correction
Based on registered lens information, these image correction features can be activated or deactivated.
Lens Information Display & Recording
The viewfinder can show lens information, and metadata like lens name and position can be stored in the image.
Dual Pixel Focus Guide
When using manual focus, both lens distance and distance measurement information may be used to display the Dual Pixel Focus Guide.
The Dual Pixel Focus Guide enables users to quickly and precisely focus by displaying both front and back focus.
Distance Indicator
As a defining characteristic of the Cinema Lens, the focus ring can mark numbers on both the left and right sides of the lens, allowing the distance indicator to be viewed from either side.
Changeable "ft" and "m" display units - by switching exterior components, users can toggle between feet and metres for distance marking.
Phosphorescent Indicators
Indicator markings with phosphorescent paint have been applied to the front barrel (for right-side viewing) to increase nighttime and low-light shooting visibility.
