How to change Control Ring functions (PowerShot S200)

Solution

Reassign <Control Ring> functions as follows.

1. Turn on the camera.

2. Choose a function to assign to the <> ring.
Press the < > button and choose [ ] tab > [Set Control Ring Func.], and then press the <FUNC./SET> button ()
Press the <><> <Directional buttons>, turn the <Control Ring> () or the <Control Dial> () to choose the desired option.



3. Turn the <Control Ring> () or the <Control Dial> () to configure the assigned function.





Functions Assignable to the Control Ring
Functions you can assign to the control ring vary depending on shooting mode, and those assignments determine which functions you can assign to the control dial.

  • +/–: exposure compensation; ISO: ISO speed; MF: manual focus; Tv: shutter speed; Av: aperture value.
  • When you assign [Manual Focus] (), [Step Zoom] (), or [Aspect Ratio] () to the <Control Ring> (), the functions you can assign to the <Control Dial> are the same as for [ ].
* Tv and Av settings can be toggled by pressing the <> button.
NOTE
In shooting modes other than these (except [Creative Filter Mode] () ), the <Control Ring> () can be used for step zooming.
