Features

High performance shooting on par with DSLR cameras

Achieve high image quality for photos and movies alike with the DIGIC 7 image processor, which brings out the best in the 24.2-megapixel, large APS-C sensor. Thanks to this, it is possible to shoot with a normal ISO speed as high as ISO 25600 and still achieve images with minimal noise and camera shake, even in low light conditions. The processing power of DIGIC 7 also enables enhanced subject tracking AF performance with the speedy Dual Pixel CMOS AF system, regardless of the lens and shooting scene. In that sense, power on par with DSLR cameras is yours to wield, whether you are photographing landscapes, portraits, sports or dynamic subjects in motion. The shooting possibilities extends to movie shooting, with options to shoot Full HD 50/60p, HDR or Time Lapse movies among others.

Compact, light and user-friendly

The slim, classic camera design provides an operating experience that rivals that of high-end DSLRs. Indulge in the convenience of establishing focus and composing images direct on the touchscreen LCD monitor, and use the three control dials for direct, hands-on adjustment of camera settings to suit ever-changing shooting conditions. You can even take self-portraits with the tilting LCD monitor. The possibilities available when handheld shooting are even greater than before thanks to the in-camera image stabilization system, which is effective even for non-IS lens and now works even when you shoot movies while walking.

Enhanced connectivity

Bluetooth is now supported in addition to Wi-Fi/ NFC, making it possible to maintain a constant connection with compatible devices as long as the camera’s power switch is on, even when the camera is in Auto Power Off status. This removes the hassle of having constantly reconnect the paired devices - a benefit that makes its presence felt when carrying out remote movie shooting/bulb photography for long periods via the paired smart device, also perfectly possible. The connection mode automatically switches to Wi-Fi to allow seamless Live View shooting and transfer of photo and video files. The Camera Connect app also boasts enhanced user-friendliness, with features such as a larger display of the connection status as well as the ability to sort the image files in the camera.
